The Undertones were born in Derry in 1976, when five friends Feargal Sharkey, John O’Neill, Damian O’Neill, Michael Bradley and Billy Doherty learned to play rock together. Two years later, they released their famous « Teenage Kicks », a song acclaimed by BBC’s John Peel. It became one of the most acclaimed punk and power pop songs of all time, expressing, like the rest of the band’s songs, the teenage rage of the 70s.

Following an American tour with The Clash, The Undertones headline shows in Europe and the UK. A short break-up followed, before the band reformed with Paul McLoone on vocals. Their influences broaden, giving way to incredibly rich melodies and arrangements, somewhere between soul and sixties symphonic pop.
