L’accordéoniste, pianiste et chanteur québécois Steve Normandin se passionne depuis toujours pour Édith Piaf . Il a apporté un éclairage nouveau sur le patrimoine discographique et le travail d’interprète, parfois méconnu, laissés par l’icône de la chanson française dont les mélodies sont gravées dans la mémoire collective. Co-auteur avec le Hongrois László Pusztai du livre Édith Piaf, l’ icône méconnue», paru en 2023 aux Presses de l’Université Laval, ainsi qu’aux Éditions Hermann en France, Steve Normandin présente ce spectacle comme un complément sonore de son livre et partage son amour pour Édith Piaf avec le public, afin de la rendre accessible au plus grand nombre. Soixante-deux ans après sa disparition, la légende d’Édith Piaf est toujours vivante. Sur scène, Steve Normandin livre ses coups de cœur qu’il puise dans le vaste répertoire connu, moins connu, ou bien oublié de la chanteuse. Les chansons choisies se parlent, se répondent. Non seulement Steve Normandin interprète les chansons, mais il dévoile aussi des aspects de leur création. Il chante et raconte Piaf !

Quebec accordionist, pianist and singer Steve Normandin has always had a passion for Édith Piaf. He has shed new light on the sometimes little-known discography and interpretative work left by the icon of French chanson, whose melodies are engraved in our collective memory. Co-author with Hungarian László Pusztai of the book « Édith Piaf, l’icône méconnue », published in 2023 by Presses de l’Université Laval, as well as by Éditions Hermann in France, Steve Normandin presents this show as a sound complement to his book, sharing his love for Édith Piaf with the public, in order to make her accessible to as many people as possible. Sixty-two years after her death, the legend of Édith Piaf lives on. On stage, Steve Normandin delivers his favorites from the singer’s vast repertoire, well-known, lesser-known and forgotten. The chosen songs speak to each other, responding to each other. Not only does Steve Normandin interpret the songs, he also reveals aspects of their creation. He sings and tells Piaf!

Der Akkordeonist, Pianist und Sänger Steve Normandin aus Québec hat sich schon immer für Edith Piaf begeistert. Er hat ein neues Licht auf das diskografische Erbe und die manchmal unbekannte Arbeit der Interpretin geworfen, die die Ikone des französischen Chansons hinterlassen hat, deren Melodien sich in das kollektive Gedächtnis eingeprägt haben. Steve Normandin ist gemeinsam mit dem Ungarn László Pusztai Autor des Buches « Édith Piaf, l’ icône méconnue », das 2023 bei Presses de l’Université Laval sowie bei Éditions Hermann in Frankreich erschienen ist. Er präsentiert diese Show als akustische Ergänzung zu seinem Buch und teilt seine Liebe zu Edith Piaf mit dem Publikum, um sie einem möglichst breiten Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Zweiundsechzig Jahre nach ihrem Tod ist die Legende von Edith Piaf immer noch lebendig. Auf der Bühne gibt Steve Normandin seine Lieblingslieder zum Besten, die er aus dem großen Repertoire der Sängerin schöpft, das bekannt, weniger bekannt oder vergessen ist. Hij heeft nieuw licht geworpen op het opname-erfgoed en het soms weinig bekende werk van dit icoon van het Franse chanson, wiens melodieën in ons collectieve geheugen gegrift staan. Samen met de Hongaar László Pusztai schreef hij het boek « Édith Piaf, l’icône méconnue », dat in 2023 werd gepubliceerd door Presses de l’Université Laval en Éditions Hermann in Frankrijk. Steve Normandin presenteert deze show als een klinkende aanvulling op zijn boek en deelt zijn liefde voor Édith Piaf met het publiek om haar voor zoveel mogelijk mensen toegankelijk te maken. Tweeënzestig jaar na haar dood leeft de legende van Édith Piaf voort.
