Kahil El’Zabar est l’une des figures majeures et visionnaires de la scène improvisée de Chicago. Membre de l’AACM, il fonde en 1974 l’Ethnic Heritage Ensemble pour explorer, dans une dimension presque rituelle, les liens entre le jazz et les traditions musicales africaines. Portée par une énergie spirituelle, sa musique rayonne sur les scènes internationales.
