Madeleine Peyroux, figure emblématique et incontournable du jazz contemporain, revient à Marciac suite à la sortie de « Let’s Walk », une œuvre intimiste et profonde où elle explore des thèmes allant de la confession à la politique, de la fantaisie à la nostalgie, tout en mélangeant brillamment jazz, folk et blues. Ce neuvième album est probablement le plus introspectif et audacieux de Madeleine Peyroux à ce jour, elle y aborde avec courage des thèmes personnels et sociétaux. C’est aussi le disque le plus éclectique d’une exploratrice vorace de sonorités. « Let’s Walk » est un mélange de genres, dont Madeleine Peyroux a le secret jazz, folk, gospel blues, Americana, pop de chambre et rythmes latins aux saveurs caribéennes, parsemé de moments d’humour léger. On y retrouve de merveilleuses interprétations des classiques de Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan ou encore Tom Waits… mais aussi de la chanson française, parlant couramment la langue, pour ce disque, la chanteuse s’est inspirée d’une partie de son adolescence vécue ici.

This ninth album is probably Madeleine Peyroux?s most introspective and audacious to date, courageously tackling both personal and societal themes. It is also the most eclectic album from a voracious explorer of sounds. « Let’s Walk » is Madeleine Peyroux’s secret blend of jazz, folk, gospel blues, Americana, chamber pop and Caribbean-flavored Latin rhythms, interspersed with moments of light-hearted humor. There are wonderful interpretations of classics by Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits… but also of French chanson. Fluent in the language, the singer drew inspiration for this album from part of her adolescence spent here.
