Jazz is his life. Cécile Mc Lorin Salvant has from her childhood her musical singularity: daughter of a French mother and a Haitian father, raised in the musical and cultural culture of Miami, Florida, she studied piano very early, Sings and listens to a wide variety of music from his family.

Then she discovered opera in Aix-en-Provence where she studied law, and then the roots of jazz and American music thanks to the jazz saxophonist Jean-François Bonniel. An irony of fate that launched his career quickly crowned with prestigious awards: nominations for the Grammy Awards, Django Reinhardt Prize from the Jazz Academy, Victory of jazz in 2022…

Il jazz è la sua vita. Cécile Mc Lorin Salvant trae dalla sua infanzia la sua singolarità musicale: figlia di una madre francese e di un padre haitiano, cresciuta nella cultura musicale e culturale di Miami in Florida, studia molto presto il piano, canta e ascolta una grande varietà di musica con la sua famiglia.

Poi ha scoperto l’opera a Aix-en-Provence dove ha studiato diritto, e le radici del jazz e della musica americana grazie al sassofonista jazz Jean-François Bonniel. Un’ironia del destino che lancia la sua carriera presto coronata da prestigiosi riconoscimenti: nomination ai Grammy Awards, Premio Django Reinhardt dell’Accademia del jazz, Vittoria del jazz nel 2022…

Da album a album (Ghost Song, Mélusine), dai concerti ai festival, Cécile Mc Lorin Salvant non smette di ampliare le sue performance live. Ed abbracciare un vasto repertorio tra jazz, blues, folk, pop e persino ispirazioni dal lato del teatro musicale e del vaudeville. Una prodezza!
