Voix d’or » de l’Afrique et monument de la musique mandingue connu pour ses succès internationaux et ses combats pour l’intégration des albinos, Salif Keita revient avec une tournée inédite en quatuor et un sublime album acoustique sur le très beau label Nø Førmat!

Le chanteur légendaire malien signe son grand retour avec ‘So Kono’, une œuvre acoustique et profondément intime. Il se livre pour la première fois dans un format acoustique épuré, renouant avec ses racines et sa guitare, son instrument compagnon de longue date.
En 2023, lors du festival Kyotophonie au Japon, un déclic s’est produit. Porté par la spiritualité d’un temple zen et le soutien de ses musiciens fidèles Badié Tounkara au ngoni et Mamadou Koné aux percussions –, Salif a accepté de se livrer comme jamais auparavant. Le titre ‘So Kono’, signifiant dans la chambre » en mandingue, évoque à la fois la simplicité et la profondeur de cet album.

Enregistré dans l’intimité de sa chambre d’hôtel, ‘So Kono’ capture l’essence de Salif Keita une voix puissante, marquée par les épreuves et les voyages, sublimée par des arrangements minimalistes.
