1ère partie : DUBINSKIThe Wanton Bishops, bien qu’il s’agisse d’un groupe, est en fait la vision d’un homme très éclectique, Nader Mansour, originaire de Beyrouth.?Après la sortie du premier album de The Wanton Bishops, « Sleep With The Lights On », un disque de Delta blues inspiré par des artistes comme RL Burnside et Muddy Waters, Nader s’est rendu dans le sud profond de l’Amérique pour découvrir les racines du Mississippi blues. Cette expérience a donné lieu à une révélation musicale pour lui, qui est rentré au Liban en homme changé, avec une vision musicale nouvellement inspirée. La musique de Nader a lentement émergé des marécages du Delta vers les montagnes libanaises, et la musique de The Wanton Bishops a commencé à refléter la patrie de Nader, son peuple et son parcours personnel. Pour citer Nader, « J’arrive enfin au cœur de la musique que je veux créer, et ce cœur est effroyablement confus, mais singulièrement spécial, un peu comme notre propre identité en tant que Libanais vivant à Beyrouth, cet éternel carrefour culturel ». Cette expérimentation a d’abord été entendue sur l’EP du groupe ‘Nowhere Everywhere’, et s’est maintenant pleinement concrétisée sur le très attendu deuxième album complet, qui sort maintenant.1ère partie : DUBINSKIBorn in rural North Yorkshire and raised in the Scottish Highlands, Dubinski are four inseparable siblings: Eugene, Fergus, Donal and Eoin Gaine. The Gaine brothers spent their childhood in atmospheric and social isolation. A shared love of music was the common thread amongst the four, so they spent their adolescent years writing and performing songs for the sheer joy of it. Eventually the brothers moved to Edinburgh, having decided to raise the bar of their childhood music ‘hobby’ to make a proper go of it. Taking on the band name Dubinski (their late mother’s maiden name), the band recorded their debut album at RAK Studios in London, working with Grammy Award winning producers/engineers Mike Horner (Yonaka, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip) and Robbie Nelson (Beck, Jarvis Cocker, Rolling Stones). Having recently released the eponymous album worldwide through Gnu Roam (Kartel Music Group), Dubinski have taken their high-energy show on the road as an international touring act. Dubinski is now gearing up for the release of their sophomore album titled What Is Your Definition Of Happiness? set for February 2025.
