Le Musée du Paysan Gascon vous plonge dans le quotidien de la vie rurale en Armagnac. Découvrez le monde agricole, la culture de la vigne, l’élaboration du vin et de l’armagnac, et sur des métiers anciens !
Visitez les ateliers du tisserand, du tonnelier, du sabotier, du charpentier, du menuisier ou encore celui du forgeron. La maison du brassier, maison modeste qui servait à héberger l’ouvrier agricole, vous invite à enrichir vos connaissances sur les constructions locales en torchis et pans de bois. Vous découvrirez également l’intérieur bourgeois de la belle demeure de 1850 la maison de maître.

Plus qu’un conservatoire d’objets figés dans le temps, le Musée est un lieu vivant d’échange et de partage des savoir-faire artisanaux, des traditions gasconnes et de la langue occitane le mardi 8 juillet, c’est démonstration du travail de la forge avec David Barbut, ferronnerie d’art Mathio.
Au rythme du marteau, le chant de l’enclume résonne. Le forgeron, David vous partage son savoir-faire.

The Gascon Peasant Museum immerses you in the daily life of rural Armagnac. Discover the world of agriculture, viticulture, wine and Armagnac production, and traditional crafts!
Visit the workshops of the weaver, the cooper, the clog maker, the carpenter, the joiner, and even the blacksmith. The farmhand’s cottage—a modest dwelling that once housed farm laborers—invites you to learn more about local cob and half-timbered construction. You’ll also discover the bourgeois interior of the beautiful 1850s mansion: the “maître’s house.”

More than just a museum of objects frozen in time, the museum is a vibrant place for exchange and sharing of artisanal skills, Gascon traditions, and the Occitan language: On Tuesday, July 8, there will be a blacksmithing demonstration with David Barbut of Mathio Artistic Ironwork.
To the rhythm of the hammer, the song of the anvil resounds. The blacksmith, David, will share his expertise with you.
