Découvrez l’ancien théâtre à l’italienne, situé dans l’enceinte du Couvent des Dames Augustines. Ce théâtre, inauguré en 1828, a été restauré entre 1891 et 1893 par Gaston Save, reconnu pour ses décors en stuc et son magnifique plafond peint.

Classé par les Bâtiments de France pour sa valeur artistique, il offre une capacité de 145 places réparties sur deux étages. En 1925, le théâtre entame une nouvelle ère avec l’avènement du cinéma, qui prendra le relais jusqu’à sa fermeture en septembre 2018. Ses murs ont été témoins de nombreux spectacles et événements marquants, offrant une immersion captivante dans le passé culturel de la ville.

Discover the historic Italian-style theater, located within the grounds of the Convent of the Augustinian Nuns. This theater, inaugurated in 1828, was restored between 1891 and 1893 by Gaston Save, renowned for his stucco decorations and magnificent painted ceiling.

Listed by Bâtiments de France for its artistic value, it has a seating capacity of 145 seats spread over two levels. In 1925, the theater entered a new era with the advent of cinema, which continued to operate there until its closure in September 2018. Its walls have witnessed numerous memorable performances and events, offering a captivating immersion into the city’s cultural past.

Enjoy a guitar-and-vocals duo from the band “Contrast,” who will perform gentle background music at regular intervals—Sundays only.
