Youssouf Abi-ayad, jeune metteur en scène et comédien strasbourgeois très prometteur au cinéma comme au théâtre s’empare de notre nouvelle Pastille créative. Dans le cadre d’un travail de recherche pour sa nouvelle création, il propose de réunir des participantes et participants amateurs de tous âges pour explorer ensemble l’univers des marathons de danse des années 1920-1930 aux États-Unis, en pleine Grande Dépression ces concours de résistance où l’on dansait jusqu’à l’épuisement pour quelques dollars et un repas chaud. À partir de toutes les sources qu’il a pu réunir sur ces pratiques stupéfiantes, il s’agit plus globalement d’interroger cette société du spectacle qui capitalise sur la misère des uns pour divertir un public qui en demande toujours plus. Au moyen d’improvisations ou encore de réécritures de textes et de mouvements, l’artiste propose de créer un marathon fictif et d’aujourd’hui, bâti en plusieurs tableaux qui seront filmés sous la forme d’un faux reportage ou d’une fausse bande-annonce, projeté lors d’une restitution en fin de saison. How far will you go?
Youssouf Abi-ayad, a young director and actor from Strasbourg who has shown great promise in both film and theater, has taken over our new Pastille créative. As part of the research for his new creation, he proposes to bring together amateur participants of all ages to explore the world of dance marathons in the United States between 1920 and 1930, in the midst of the Great Depression? these competitions of resistance where people danced to exhaustion for a few dollars and a hot meal. Drawing on all the sources he has been able to gather on these amazing practices, the aim is to question this entertainment society, which capitalizes on the misery of some to entertain an audience that demands ever more. Through improvisations and rewritings of texts and movements, the artist proposes to create a fictional, contemporary marathon, built around several tableaux that will be filmed in the form of a fake news report or trailer, to be screened at the end of the season. No theatrical or choreographic knowledge or practice is required: dare you take up the challenge?

Youssouf Abi-ayad, ein junger Regisseur und Schauspieler aus Straßburg, der sowohl im Kino als auch im Theater sehr vielversprechend ist, hat sich unsere neue Kreative Pastille vorgenommen. Im Rahmen einer Recherche für seine neue Kreation schlägt er vor, Amateur-Teilnehmerinnen und -Teilnehmer aller Altersgruppen zusammenzubringen, um gemeinsam die Welt der Tanzmarathons der 1920er und 1930er Jahre in den USA, mitten in der Großen Depression, zu erforschen ? diese Widerstandswettbewerbe, bei denen man für ein paar Dollar und eine warme Mahlzeit bis zur Erschöpfung tanzte. Ausgehend von allen Quellen, die er über diese erstaunlichen Praktiken sammeln konnte, geht es ihm darum, die Gesellschaft des Spektakels zu hinterfragen, die aus dem Elend der einen Kapital schlägt, um ein Publikum zu unterhalten, das immer mehr verlangt. Mit Hilfe von Improvisationen, Textumschreibungen und Bewegungen schlägt der Künstler vor, einen fiktiven Marathon von heute zu kreieren, der aus mehreren Bildern besteht, die in Form einer falschen Reportage oder eines falschen Trailers gefilmt werden und am Ende der Saison in einer Aufführung gezeigt werden. Nell’ambito delle ricerche per la sua nuova creazione, propone di riunire partecipanti dilettanti di tutte le età per esplorare il mondo delle maratone di danza negli Stati Uniti tra il 1920 e il 1930, al culmine della Grande Depressione: gare di resistenza in cui si ballava fino allo sfinimento per pochi dollari e un pasto caldo. Attingendo a tutte le fonti che è riuscito a raccogliere su queste pratiche sorprendenti, l’obiettivo è quello di gettare uno sguardo più ampio su questa società dello spettacolo, che capitalizza la miseria di alcuni per intrattenere un pubblico che vuole sempre di più. Attraverso improvvisazioni e riscritture di testi e movimenti, l’artista propone di creare una maratona fittizia e contemporanea, composta da diversi tableaux che saranno filmati sotto forma di finto telegiornale o trailer, da proiettare alla fine della stagione. Como parte de la investigación para su nueva creación, nos propone reunir a participantes aficionados de todas las edades para explorar el mundo de las maratones de baile en Estados Unidos entre 1920 y 1930, en plena Gran Depresión… estas competiciones de resistencia en las que la gente bailaba hasta la extenuación por unos pocos dólares y una comida caliente. A partir de todas las fuentes que ha podido reunir sobre estas prácticas asombrosas, el objetivo es echar un vistazo más amplio a esta sociedad del espectáculo, que capitaliza la miseria de algunos para entretener a un público que siempre quiere más. Mediante improvisaciones y textos y movimientos reescritos, el artista propone crear un maratón ficticio y contemporáneo, construido a partir de varios cuadros que se filmarán en forma de falso reportaje o tráiler, para proyectarlo al final de la temporada.
