« Les micro-histoires repliées sur elles-mêmes se reconfigurent comme éléments d’un grand récit. Une fenêtre s’ouvre, à travers laquelle nous pouvons entrevoir, avec prudence, les motifs d’une amnésie historique collective qui se forme dans le champ de bataille entre les imaginaires individuels et la volonté idéologique. »
Au début des années 2000, Katharina Roters et József Szolnoki ont commencé à développer ensemble des œuvres fondées sur la recherche, explorant les configurations souvent contradictoires de la mémoire individuelle et collective, et en particulier les mécanismes de l’oubli. Présenté lors de l’exposition Hack the Past! (2016) à Győr et Veszprém — qui intégrait des formes de re-enactment et d’interventions dans l’espace public — puis approfondi dans l’exposition Wunderblock au MODEM de Debrecen en 2019, ce cycle trouve ici son aboutissement. Cette exposition a été réalisée à l’occasion du 70e anniversaire de la révolution de 1956.

Vehicle traffic in the castle is limited, but our galleries are just a few minutes’ walk from the Óváros tér (Old Town Square) car park.

By public transport

The city’s central bus station is only a 10-minutes walk away.

When travelling from the train station, taking the local bus is recommended. When taking Bus No. 4, get off at the Megyeháza tér (County Hall Square) stop, while in the case of bus No. 2, the Színház (Theatre) stop is the most convenient.

By bike
A cobbled path leads through the castle. There are bicycle stands in the courtyard of Dubniczay Palace.
