L’association Orgue-Avenir à la Porte des Vosges clôt sa quinzième saison estivale de concerts d’orgue avec un récital donné par Damien Simon, organiste titulaire du grand orgue de la cathédrale de Strasbourg, professeur au Conservatoire de Rennes et directeur artistique du festival Stras’Orgues.
À l’orgue l’église Saint-Georges de Raon-l’Étape, il interprétera un programme couvrant près de trois siècles de musique, de Girolamo Frescobaldi à Alexandre Pierre François Boëly, avec des œuvres de Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach et Felix Mendelssohn. Alternant formes libres, choral, concerto, sonate, trio et fugue, ce récital illustrera la richesse et la diversité des traditions italienne, allemande et française. La diversité des styles abordés offrira l’occasion d’entendre toute la richesse de la palette sonore et des timbres de cet orgue, construit par Jeanpierre en 1838 puis transformé par Jacquot-Lavergne en 1952.
Comme lors de chaque concert organisé par l’association, une retransmission vidéo sur grand écran permettra au public de suivre le jeu de l’organiste aux claviers.

The Orgue-Avenir %E0 la Porte des Vosges association is wrapping up its fifteenthE8th summer season of organ concerts with a recital by Damien Simon, titular organist of the main organ at Strasbourg Cathedral, professor at the Rennes Conservatory, and artistic director of the Stras’Orgues festival.
At the organ of Saint-Georges Church in Raon-l’Étape, he will perform a program spanning nearly three centuries of music, from Girolamo Frescobaldi to Alexandre Pierre François Boély, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and Felix Mendelssohn. Alternating between free forms, chorales, concertos, sonatas, trios, and fugues, this recital will showcase the richness and diversity of Italian, German, and French traditions. The variety of styles featured will offer the opportunity to experience the full richness of the sound palette and timbres of this organ, built by Jeanpierre in 1838 and later modified by Jacquot-Lavergne in 1952.
As with every concert organized by the association, a video feed on a large screen will allow the audience to follow the organist’s performance at the keyboards.
