Le festival des Antipodes investit Dieuze le temps d’une matinée. Pour cette
première fois, ce commencement, nous allons explorer la ville en la faisant sonner,
lancer nos voix et écouter comment les lieux y répondent. Duos, trios, quatuors,
ensemble, à capella ou avec instruments, artistes et spectateurs parcourent les
rues, s’arrêtent aux endroits choisis et chantent, disent, jouent, orientent le regard
et l’oreille vers de nouvelles perspectives, pour revenir enfin à la Lorraine, futur QG
de la MEC. Comment sonne une salle fermée ? Et fenêtres ouvertes ? Et si on jouait
de la porte ? Des chants, des paroles, des instruments qui jouent, aux étages et
jusque dans les caves. Quelles histoires naissent quand nous laissons faire nos
oreilles ? Quand on laisse voyager nos yeux sur les façades d’une salle dont
l’intérieur nous reste secret ? Quand le son et l’espace se disputent les premiers
rôles, actrices et musiciennes jouant à leur service ?

The Antipodes Festival takes over Dieuze for a morning. For this
first time, this beginning, we’ll explore the town by making it ring out,
raising our voices, and listening to how the spaces respond. In duos, trios, and quartets,
together, a cappella or with instruments, artists and audience members will wander the
streets, stopping at chosen spots to sing, speak, play, and direct our gaze
and ears toward new perspectives, before finally returning to Lorraine, the future HQ
of the MEC. What does a closed room sound like? And with open windows? What if we played
with the door? Songs, words, instruments playing, on the upper floors and
all the way down to the cellars. What stories emerge when we let our
ears wander? When we let our eyes wander over the facades of a hall whose
interior remains a secret to us? When sound and space vie for the leading
roles, with actresses and musicians playing in their service?
