Le 31 Août, une date importante pour Ligny-en-Barrois la Libération de notre ville par les Américains, jour de Fête et d´Histoire.
Le 31 août 1944, la Libération de Ligny-en-Barrois c’est tôt le matin que les troupes de la 4e division blindée du XIIe corps de la 3e armée US, commandée par le général Patton, arrivent en ville, venant de Saint-Dizier par la RN4.

August 31, an important date for Ligny-en-Barrois: the Liberation of our town by the Americans, a day of celebration and history.
August 31, 1944, the Liberation of Ligny-en-Barrois: early in the morning, troops from the 4th Armored Division of the XII Corps of the 3rd US Army, commanded by General Patton, arrived in town from Saint-Dizier on the RN4.

Rally at Place de la République and patriotic ceremony at the Monument aux Morts in Luxembourg Park.
